A Ka-band 1 to 4 power divider/combiner

Abstract:A 1-to-4 traveling wave power divider/combiner designed at Ka-band is presented in this paper. Four units that couple power from rectangular waveguide to microstrip line and microstrip line to rectangular waveguide composing the power divider/combiner are proposed. Power coupling is achieved through the microwave line probes which lay on the central of the broad wall of the rectangular waveguide through the slots. Shorting posts inside the waveguide are used to adjust the coupling coefficient. Simulation on the four-way passive divider/combiner back-to-back demonstrates that maximum overall insertion loss is less than 1.0dB at 38GHz with the 3dB bandwidth exceed 3.5GHz.
