Daosheng Huang, Feng Liang, Xiangru Wang, Bing-Zhong Wang, presenting "A Millimeter-Wave Dual-Band Antenna Based on Microstrip Dual-Loop and Patch,IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, vol. 23, no. 10, 2024
Key Highlights :


  • The proposed antenna element realizes millimeter-wave dual-band operation at 27/38 GHz by a series combination of a microstrip patch antenna and a microstrip dual-loop antenna. The microstrip patch antenna operates as a radiation structure at high frequency band and a transmission structure at low frequency band, while the microstrip dual-loop antenna operates as a radiation structure at low frequency band and a transmission structure at high frequency band.

  • The series element structure leads to a high element gain of about 10 dBi in both frequency bands. The operating bandwidth in both frequency bands is obviously improved by the introduction of parasitic patches. Then a 2×1 array based on the proposed element and differential feed with low cross-polarization level is demonstrated.
