Personal Profile

Lan Wang is a tenure-track Associate Professor in the School of Physics at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Her research focuses on programmable terahertz (THz) metasurfaces, topological photonic chips, and on-chip THz communication systems. In recent years, she has advanced THz modulation by developing digitally driven high-speed amplitude-modulation chips, building high-precision phase-modulation chips, and introducing a co-modulation scheme that combines time coding with a meta-chip to enable directly modulated, time-coded THz links. Her work has appeared in leading journals such as Science Advances and Nature Photonics. She has led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and was selected for the China Association for Science and Technology’s Youth Talent Support Program. Her honors include the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Chinese Institute of Electronics and a Silver Medal at the National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Dr. Wang currently serves on the Youth Editorial Board of the Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves.
